Wills India Fashion Week – Designer Anand Kabra presents his Autumn/Winter 2012 show: Day dresses, Bridal Sarees and Lehangas ,Reinvented

Young Indian Designer Anand Kabra presented his Autumn/Winter collection at the Wills India Fashion Week last Thursday in Delhi. Simple, sleek silhouettes in silk and featuring high-neck detailing characterized his western collection, whilst deep, rich navy colours and strong, simple embroidery featured across his Indian Ethnic collection.

The dresses are perfect day-to-evening pieces and can be dressed down for the day over tights, ankle boots and a jacket. However we felt that the bridal lehangas  and A-line draped sarees were the star pieces in the show – very fresh and modern. We loved the muted navy and sage green colours and the fact that Anand paired the pieces with simply patterned high-necked halter, or art-deco styled embroidered saree blouses and cholis.  The whole look was pared down  luxury, and all the more striking for its simplicity.
