Fashion News The new beach babe

Mumbai-born Ishita Malaviya and her mean surfboard skills are, literally, making waves internationally. Pegged as the nation’s first lady of surf, the 22-year-old has been picked by popular beachwear brand Roxy to be part of their Spring/Summer 2013 campaign, a first for any Indian athlete.
Captured on the shores of Ibiza in barely-there bikinis, Malaviya is also the only budding surfer to be included in the campaign, flaunting her beach babe figure alongside the surfing world's top female champions.
Catching her first wave barely five years ago, after moving to the tiny beach town of Manipal in Karnataka to study journalism, Malaviya co-founded one of the country’s foremost surf schools, Shaka Surf Club, along with partner Tushar Pathiyan. The duo help amateur wave riders from around the country to hone their skills.
Now aiming to turn pro, Malaviya’s main ambition is to promote India’s relatively unexplored coastline as an international surfing destination. Her advice to thrill seekers looking to tame their first curl? Never hit the water without your surfing partner or your SPF.
